Success Stories: Immigrant Visa Based on Marriage Issued to Philippine National at the U.S. Consulate in Manila

Photo by Jonathan Borba on Unsplash. Consular processing occurs when you get your immigrant visa outside of the United States, normally in your country of citizenship or residence at a U.S. Consulate or Embassy, as opposed to applying directly for permanent residence inside of the United States with the USCIS which is called an adjustment of status.

We recently received an approval for an immigrant visa for a Philippine national based on marriage to her U.S. Citizen Spouse at the U.S. Consulate in Manila. Congratulations to our clients!

Spouses of U.S. citizens are considered "immediate relative" petitions and are not subject to any limitation on visa issuance, meaning that there is always a visa available. Upon approval of a family petition, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) sends the approval to the National Visa Center (NVC), the agency in charge of collecting information and documentation, commencing the consular process. Learn more about this process in our related blog post.

We have many years of experience representing individuals in their family based immigration petitions. Immigration can be complicated-- let us guide you through the process smoothly.
