Success Stories: Spousal Immigrant Visa Issued to Philippine National at the U.S. Consulate in Manila
We recently received an approval for an immigrant visa for a Philippine national based on marriage to his U.S. Legal Permanent Resident Spouse at the U.S. Consulate in Manila. Congratulations to our clients!
Getting permanent residence for a loved one residing abroad is a multi-step process. The first step is to file a family petition at the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, demonstrating the family relationship. In this case, we had submitted documentation for the bonafides of the couple’s marriage.
Upon approval of the petition, the file is transferred to the National Visa Center (NVC) which is the agency that is tasked to gather the required documentation and information. Once complete, the NVC sends the file to the local consulate in Manila, which schedules the immigrant visa interview. Learn more about the next steps for consular processing after your I-130 application is approved and timing considerations.
